# Use the package in your own AI

Use whichever tool you already have. You need your own account with access to that tool. This download doesn't include an AI subscription. Keep a clean copy of the package and a separate folder called `My Business Brain` for your answers.

## Claude: start with a conversation

Open a new conversation. For the free starter, paste the prompt from `start-prompt.md`. For the paid guide, attach `BUSINESS-BRAIN-GUIDE.txt` and say:

> Use the attached Business Brain guide to interview me and build my own business files. Start by confirming you can read the guide. Ask one question at a time. I have 15 minutes today.

If attachments aren't available, open the text file and paste its contents. If it's too long, supply the guide prompt first, then the individual template or workflow it requests. Save approved output yourself when the assistant only produces text. Don't assume an attachment or download updates an earlier source file.

For reuse across chats, create a Claude project, add approved context to its project knowledge and use project instructions for your working rules. Check visibility before adding business material. Keep approved files current; don't rely on an earlier conversation alone to carry exact facts forward. ## Codex: use a dedicated folder

Extract the package into its own folder and select that folder as a local project in Codex. Open a task in that project. OpenAI's setup guide describes selecting a folder for Codex to work in. [OpenAI's getting-started guide](https://chatgpt.com/features/codex-get-started/)

For the free starter, paste `start-prompt.md`. For the paid guide, say:

> Read BUSINESS-BRAIN-GUIDE.txt in this project. Use it to help me build my business files. Start by confirming which package files you can read. Ask one question at a time. Keep the original package unchanged. Before saving, agree a separate My Business Brain output folder with me. Don't inspect other folders, connect accounts, install anything or change settings.

If the app can't read that folder, paste the guide and use the same manual-save route as a chat. You don't need a repository, automatic instructions file or background agent for this package. File access depends on your actual environment; the guide must check rather than assume.

## Save, return and check

In either tool, distinguish a draft shown in chat from a file actually saved. Open your saved file to check it contains the approved answer. Keep dated backups before replacing context.

For the paid guide, bring back the latest five completed context/progress files and your tailored workflows, then provide the guide again. Say “Resume from progress.md.” For the free starter, provide your approved business brief and the next task.

Ask the assistant to identify the sources it can see and summarise your business before it works. Correct an old or wrong fact in your master file, then replace the version your assistant uses. If you reach an account usage limit, save your progress and return when your account allows it.

Instructions are a way to guide behaviour, not a security control. Choose material that's suitable for your organisation's AI rules and settings. Only connect private systems through a separately agreed setup.
