Resources Before we meet · Consultation

Prepare for your AI consultation.

A little preparation means we spend the session on your work instead of on introductions.

  • 10 to 15 minutes
  • Four answers is enough
  • Nothing to install

Fill in the fact-finder.

The fact-finder is eight short questions about how your business actually runs. You answer them on the page, it saves as you type and it comes straight to us when you submit. Rough answers are fine. So is "not sure", which tells us something too.

It asks what your business does, the one thing you'd most like help with, the tools you already work in and what you want to walk away with. The later questions go into one task in more detail, if you have the time to give it.

Open the fact-finder and answer it now. The first four questions are the ones that matter. If you stop after those, we've still got enough to prepare.

Send it at least one working day before we meet if you can. You don't need to know which AI product or technical approach you want. Working that out is our job.

If you'd rather have AI interview you than type into a form, the preparation pack has a version you can run inside your own assistant. Download it, open the guided fact-finder and paste its prompt into Claude or ChatGPT. Review what it writes before you send it. Download the preparation pack.

Pick one piece of real work.

One concrete example is worth more than a general description. Choose something you do over and over, where the work is repetitive but the judgement is yours.

Have a rough answer ready for what starts it, what information you use, the main steps, what comes out at the end and who checks it.

What a good example looks like

"Every enquiry about a vacant property asks roughly the same five things. I answer each one by hand, copying details out of our system. It takes about ten minutes and I do it a dozen times a week."

Bring a sample if you have one. Tell us whether it's real work with the identifying details removed or something you've invented. Both are useful. We just need to know which one we're looking at.

Decide what stays private.

Leave out customer names and personal details, bank and payment information, passwords, access keys and private account links. We don't need your inbox, your client database or your full business files.

If the task you want help with involves sensitive material, describe it in general terms. We'll agree how to handle it properly before anyone touches it.

Only share what you're authorised to share. Read back what you've written before you send it. Send only the version you're comfortable with.

Optional · 5 to 10 minutes

Try something small first.

If you want a feel for this before we meet, the free starter walks you through describing your business to AI, then giving it one small task. It takes ten minutes in a chat you already have open.

If you do try it, tell us what worked, what you had to correct and where you got stuck. A couple of lines is plenty. Keep the files themselves in your own folder.

This is genuinely optional. You don't need to buy anything, start a subscription or finish a setup before speaking with us.

Sort out who is coming.

Two practical things make the difference between a useful hour and a vague one.

  • The person who does the work should be there. They know where it actually breaks down, which is the part we need.
  • If you want anything changed, bring someone who can approve it. Accounts, systems and spending all need a decision from the right person.

If we agreed a hands-on session

Bring the laptop you normally work on and check you can sign into your own AI account before the day. If you don't have one yet or can't get into it, tell us. Don't buy or change anything just for the meeting.

If we agreed a demonstration rather than a build, all you need is your questions and the example from step two.

What happens on the day.

We read your answers before we meet, then open by reading our understanding back to you so you can correct it. From there we agree one useful outcome for the time we have, usually choosing the first task worth improving or producing one draft you can check.

Nothing gets installed, connected or changed in your business without you naming it first. Any build, connection or ongoing support is a separate conversation.
